Ancient Samson seal discovered near Bet Shemesh

A small ancient seal depicting a man fighting a lion has been discovered near Beit Shemesh, according to PhysOrg news. The Tel Aviv researchers who dug up the artifact say it may be related to the biblical story of Samson who fought wild animals. Archeologists believe the find to be from the 12th century BCE. The city of Beit Shemesh is in the region where Samson lived.
