Thing to do in Jerusalem for August.

Hutzot HaYotzer is the international arts and crafts exhibition.  Wonderful stalls filled with Israeli handiwork and pavillions of crafts from 39 countires indlucing Brazil, China, India, Romania, Peru, and Ghana.  There is music,street permormances and concerts each evening with well known Israeli artists.  Take a picnic or buy from the food stalls.  Its a great event for couples, families and friends.  Aug. 6 - 18, 2012 from 18:00 - 23:00 every evening except for Fridays.  Saturday from one hour after the Sabbath goes out until midnight.  Cost is 60 NIS per adult and 35 NIS per child but there is a family ticket for 190 NIS which is a great saver for large families.  Try and purchase tickets in advance at ticket outlets in the city so you don't have to stand in line but even if you have to, its worth it!!!!

27th annual Kite Festival - if you are a kite entusiast or just want to build one with the kids this is a great opportunity and a wonderful one day event.  Aug. 21, 2012 at the Israel Musuem from 10:00 - 19:00; kite making, kite flying and a musical parade of giant puppets. 

Every Second Thursday night at City Hall has open concerts at 21:00.  Aug, 2, 16, and 30th.  If you're a music lover check it out.

Bezalel Arts Fair - Every Friday this summer from 10:00 - 16:00 you can go to the pedistrian mall outside the Bezalel Art Academy in Central Jerusalem.  Exhibition and sale of works of current and former students at this art, culture and social fair.
